TUNN

For my first chair I wanted to create an industrial yet minimal design, that plays to the material strengths of its component and can be assembled in its entirety using nuts and bolts, to some degree inspired by IKEAs flatpack concept.

L-profiles in steel were chosen for strength, visual lightness, and enabling connection points in multiple directions. An intersecting metal grid gives strength to the seat, with the remaining components made out of birch wood.

The wood components could easily be switched out or mixed with other materials in different colors and textures for further variation and adaptability to a given space.
