GLIPA
An exploration in material dimensions and strength, the idea for GLIPA was to have a stool with a partially unconnected leg design, resulting in a long narrow slit (Swedish: Glipa) in each of the stools four corners.
Unlike a design with interconnected leg braces, strength and rigidity is achieved by recessed connection points and the inherent properties of the steel flat bars. To maintain the thin dimensions for the seat, leather has been adhered to a 1mm steel sheet that attaches to the top of the wooden frame.
